Some 71% of American workers have been at the same job for more than two years, and 40% say they haven't looked for a new job in the past six months.

That's according to a recent survey conducted by Software Finder exploring "job hugging" (when workers hold onto a current job and do not look for a new one). For the report, the researchers surveyed 1,002 employed Americans in September 2025.
