Default Some Tips on setting your Advertising Objectives

Apart from enticing a special target group to buy a special product or service.Every advertisement has a set of objectives that has to be achieved.

Here are some examples of Advertising Objectives. Objectives can be based on the type of product being advertised. It can also be based on the stage it has reached in its life-cycle. The marketplace in which it operates can be another factor.

To support sales increases
To create awareness
To remind
To reassure
To create an image
To inform about features or benefits
To gain trade and sales staff support

When setting your advertising objectives it should be achievable, measurable and relevant. Basically your objectives must be attainable and realistic.

Is it me, or this looks like right out of Mr. Kotler's alzheimered brain?

By the contrary of what Mr. K thought, and the poster remarked, I think we should not be caring about the product's lifecycle as a factor that will influence our advertising decisions. By the time we will be deciding how we will advertise a product it's life cycle would be so engrained in out understanding that it will be just common sense for us.

Lets keep our brains for the hard stuff.

Advertising is persuasive and informational and is designed to influence the purchasing behavior and/or thought patterns of the audience.

Thank you for sharing the best advice. Suggestions are very helpful for me. Advertising is persuasive and informational and is intended to influence the purchasing behavior and / or thought of the public. I think there should be a concern of the life cycle of the product as a factor influencing our decision to publish.

yah, when you offer any product make sure that it is attainable and realistic because consumers will keep on getting back, making referrals once the product is awesome.

Hello Friend, I agree with your facts. I also like to add some more facts in Advertising Objectives are -
1. Demonstrating a product.
2. Building Image.
3. Special promotions Strategy.

I studied advertising at college and uni - the mains points in advertising are -

Firstly - you need to determine if you are going to advertise a product, or your business. Lets take McDonalds for an example - sometimes they will advertise a burger, and every now and then, they have an advert out which simply reminds the viewer of McDonald's, they aren't selling anything, apart from the fact that they exist.

So If your advertising your business what do you need to do?

1. Create awarness - show people that your business exists.
2. Give them the information the need, just a small amount of information so they visit your site to get more.
3. Get to know your viewer - most people won't buy from you without any trust. Trust is needed to sell - you can gain trust through Auto-Responders, these will send messages to them whenever you want them to giving FREE information, thus starts building a trusting relationship with your viewer.
4. Re-assure your viewer that your a 'big business', and your not after 'one off' sales.
5. Make sure that your advert sticks in the viewers head - this way they will tell their friends about you. This can be done by having an outrageous advert. Example - think of an advert you have seen, and were like WOW, and you spoke about it with your friends - this is what you need!

Selling a product;

This is basically same as above, however all the information needs to be about the product you are selling. Do not overload your viewer with loads of products at once - they will become confused. Remember, you have the knowledge and they don't, do not overload them with too much, it will scare them off.

Again here you can use your Auto-Responder, build up a trusting relationship, then start sending them emails about products, maybe 1-2 a week.

This can all be implemented with one program, I like to use Aweber because it is cheap and effective. There are other Auto-responders out there.

Hope this helps and good luck with your adverts.
