MLM Marketing is it a good marketing technique?

Multi-level Marketing is otherwise known as network marketing,referral marketing and pyramid selling. MLM has been used by many large organization as apart of their marketing strategy to promote their products, this type of marketing technique has been a subject of controversy in a lot of ways and has touch on the issues or morality and ethics.
I must say Multi-level marketing is a legitimate way of selling goods or sevices through independent distributors. Most of the times independent sales people do not receive a salary. Instead, they are compensated through commissions based on the sale of products, both for their own sales as well as on the sales of those they recruit and support. Legitimate MLM's base compensation primarily on the amount of products sold - not on the mere act of recruiting. Thats the difference between Pyramid Schemes and MLM's.

I was reading an article on Mary-Kay Inc., explaining why they are not a Pyramid Company. Again, this is a perfect example why we need to distinguish between Pyramid Schemes and Multi level Marketing. Mary Kay Inc. defends its position that it is neither a multi-level marketing company (MLM) nor a pyramid scheme. Hmm interesting.
As Robert FitzPatrick so eloquently told us, there really is no "profit" in an MLM, merely just a transfer of money from the lower level people to those at the top of the pyramid.

There are numerous MLM companies that have been around for years... Amway to name one very successful company.

There are several floating around the web that claim to be MLM and have no products. They do offer "training" and their supporters will tell you that makes them legit. Another offers a library of "old" ebooks as a cover for their questionable business.
Just send in your money and recruit everyone you know and make money....BS..

These types of operations leave a bad taste for those who try and sours them when they hear MLM mentioned within 50 feet of them.....

Yes, I do agree that MLM Marketing is the best way of doing your business as your advertising cost is saved completely.

I have a friend who only runs a system that facilitates MLM sales, he makes a lot of money just doing this so i reckon if you can convince enough people to go out there and sell your product it works!

Generating leads and telephone follow-ups is at the heart of the MLM system.

But it has to be in one of the big niches, doing it in a small niche is kinda pointless, you need a big demand - health and money are a couple of examples.

It is hard to make "quick" money with MLM....unless you know a lot of very responsive people to get into business with you....

i agree ML Marketing is not like other marketing that you can easily earned money. some people hate a pyramid selling. i don't know the main reason of it. but i can say it is not that effective.

Hi,
The basic question that needs to be asked is this: If this product or service is so great, then why isn't it being sold through the customary marketing system that has served human society for thousands of years? Why does it need to resort to a "special marketing" scheme like an MLM? Why does everyone need to be so inexperienced at marketing this! Is the product just a thin cover for what is really a pyramid scheme of exploiting others? But more on that later.
