Twitter is an Awesome tool for the internet marketer...But you need targeted followers...If they are not a part of your target market you are wasting your time...Same as anything else really...

Yeah twitter is one of the best ways to get traffic, but it isn't necessarily the best way to get the traffic you want for you product/service.

Twitter:
1. Use keywords on your profile that is related to your website/business (ie; "#dating, #travel)
2. Share links on your profile, while talking about non-business too.

Lots of cities also have Twitter directories. You can put your username in a directory and that can increase your followers tremendously.
