psychology and sociology!!!!

In marketing, there are many factors which effect the process of marketing... I just want to know that how does the factors like psychology and sociology affects the process of marketing?? waiting for replies
I need assistance from you guys......

Well sociology would help you understand market forces (supply and demand) amongst different demographics (different profiles of people).

Psychology is the understanding of the human psyche, so is more to do with personality and character traits.

So with sociology you can understand who you are marketing, and with psychology you can understand how to market to them.

I have to say there is a lot of crossover between the two, but both are investigatory sciences for understanding people.

Put simply:

Psychology is the art of understanding the person.
Sociology is the art of understanding the interaction between people.

I can tell you about psychology. Psychology is directly related to consumer behavior. It lets you know how a person reacts or responds to a particular situation and how it affects his/her purchase habits or pattern. Once you get a know how of customer psyche, you can channelize your marketing efforts in that direction to get the desired results.

You need to used sociology in order to drive more marketing visitors and potential buyers but before you do that, you need to use psychology in order to find-out and analyze well your target market and its need. So, I must say that sociology and psychology are both important factors.

On the face of it´s very clever question. Psychology helps to know a main group of customers/clients (their age,goals,ambitions,feelings and behaviour). Sociology recovers this group of customers/clients from many aspects,e.g. intelligence,education,demographic,social status and many more aspects. Basically this agenda is more bigger like only one thread.
