Email marketing for a small business, which is the right approach?

Hi fellows,

I'm new to email marketing, I started it as a try two weeks ago, having sent about 3000 emails and I saw this is a very good method of advertising for the services I offer.

I want to continue it and I'm here to ask your advice of how to do it right.

My target is to be able to send 20 thousand emails per month, this would suffice for my business.

Right now, I'm using 3 smtp email accounts trying to send 700 emails per day, but sometimes they are blocked (my gmail account was blocked for 24 hours recently)

What is the right approach for sending 20 thousand emails per month?

I've heard about buying a VPS and using it.
My concerns about this are:
How to handle ip blacklisting? How I should do email validation and is this important? I would also appreciate suggestions of VPS hosting providers for do it.

You should not use these type of email accounts for sending mass emails, they are likely to get blocked or get classed as spam. A good free broadcast system is MailChimp or a low cost service which I use is Aweber. Both are very popular and highly recommended for the type of email campaigns you are talking about.

What software do you currently use to send out your emails and how much do you pay for it?

The campaign I pretend to make might be classified as spam, depending on the legislation, the ones of my country don't forbid this kind of campaign, and I want to do it not in high volume - like, 20 thousand mail per month I believe is not that much. There are not VPS server that can agree with it, or at least not be so unhappy? Aweber would comply with 20 thousand new recipients each month or it's only for fixed mail lists?

I use 1st Mass Mailer to send the emails, using different smtp servers of gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc.

Hi Rivaldo,

If your list is opt-in and legit then check GetRepsonse - we offer a free trial and 20k emails are certainly not a problem. However, any legit ESP is going to want to confirm that your list is an opt-in list either by sending out confirmation emails to the subscribers or testing it - with us, you can ask support to have our compliance team test the list to be sure it's healthy and then if that is proven to be the case we will waive the confirmation process.

A legit opt-in list is pure gold and well worth the effort to build it.

I don't think Mailchimp is free when you want to send out that amount of e-mails. Firms like Aweber and iContact have all double optin policy (and I have the impression that in this case you can not prove the double opt-in so your leads will be rejected by aweber and icontact
