What is Article Marketing?

I'm new to this, so can someone tell me what Article marketing is.

Is it where you write a Article about a product u want to sell?

You want to write articles about subjects that you know about to show your knowledge, if you want to talk about your products/ services then press releases is what you want to do.

Articles are only promotional in the way that a resource box at the bottom of your article is your advertisement just like a signature is on a forum - on a forum you chat in the main area but you only promote in the signature.

For me article marketing is the practice of posting keyword-focused articles on article sites that then syndicate your content. The reason this is an important website promotion technique is because some of these article syndication sites have a significant readership following.

The other reason is that webmasters and ezine readers are always looking for good content to republish on their websites. This is a huge bonus, so it is an incentive to write really good content rather than churining something out that has little or no value to the reader.

I would rather spend a few hours writing a great article than spend a few hours writing several sub-standard articles.

Sometimes, you've just got to put in the hours to get those articles out there, they will bring in the traffic as long as the content is useful.

Article marketing is absolutely worth the time and I think that this was a great effort to prove this via EzineArticles, which is the market leader and probably the best one for new marketers to test and share their content.

I agree, article marketing works and if you find a niche that you're interested in it will come across in your article. This will help greatly in generating traffic to your website.
